1. Will you have chip timing?

No, this run is just for fun! Besides, we expect you might be wearing a costume or distracted by the zombies, so you might not be able to run in a precisely straight line. And to be completely honest, it added to the cost per runner and we weren't willing to take that away from the Food Bank of CNY.

2. Oh, so no prizes, then?

Of course there will be prizes! We love prizes and will be awarding medals to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K, the top three runners under 12 in the half-mile fun run, and the top three runners 5 and under in the little kids fun run. We will also come up with some fun prizes for the costume contest!

3. Where is this race anyway?

It will take place at 11 am on Sunday October 4, 2015 at the Aspen Shelter of Oneida Shores Park at 9400 Bartell Road in Brewerton, NY. Note that this is a cross country course and you will be chased by zombies over the hills and through the woods. The FREE Kids Fun Run will take place on a half-mile flat and zombie-free course at 10 am. 

4. What if I am a person of Some Great Importance at a local company and would like to make a corporate donation?

In that case we would be delighted to print your logo on the back of our extremely awesome and quite possibly collectible raceday t-shirt. 6. Why the Food Bank of CNY?

Because they do incredible work over there. The Food Bank of Central New York has been helping to feed the hungry since 1985.  They are the main food supplier to 268 emergency food programs, helping to fill food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters with food for distribution to the hungry.  In 2013, the Food Bank of Central New York distributed over 16 million pounds of food.  Every dollar you donate turns into 3.2 healthy, balanced meals due to their increased buying power. And unlike many charities, 96 cents on the dollar goes directly toward helping people. That leaves them like four cents for salaries and office supplies. Pretty amazing right?

7. How much is this going to cost me?

The registration fee is only 25 dollars per runner in the 5K. For that you get an afternoon of fun and mayhem, some exercise, and the knowledge that you have done some real good in the world. What's great about us is that we don't want your money. We are registering this event through leonetiming.com so that all of the money goes directly to the Food Bank of CNY. We will never see it, we promise, but we'll definitely check to be sure it's there! The kids won't get t-shirts because they won't fit them in six months anyway. Instead, we will make them great goody bags, which they will definitely like better! And we won't charge them to run either.

8. What else should I know?

Wear a costume as long as it won't interfere with your ability to run, and please know that while we will enjoy chasing you we won't actually actually be grabbing you. Also please remember that this is a student event so we cannot allow any alcohol into the venue. Thank you for your support.

This year, early packet pickup will take place at the new Fleet Feet Sports at 4136 State Route 31 in Clay on Saturday, October 3 from 12 to 3 pm. It's a great opportunity to beat the rush on raceday! COME EARLY FOR GREAT SWAG BAGS WITH PRODUCT SAMPLES, LIP BALM, & MORE!!

9. What is the course like?

The new Hallowrun course starts at the Aspen Shelter of Oneida Shores, runs along the beach for a bit, then crosses to the other side of the park and back. Don't worry, we will mark it in course chalk so you don't get lost and our Zombie Response Team will lead the way!
